Rated 1 out of 5 by from You'll cus and swear for sure with this! 1999 Wrangler Sahara. Already replaced the lower steer shaft with a Crown Automotive (52078705) Steering Shaft. That was an "okay" fit, the steering gearbox fitting wasn't threaded well, and it felt like I was cross threaded and worried the bolt would snap halfway through. That took out my steering slop. I ordered this upper link in hopes to get some new parts in there to prevent later issues. Removal of the OEM one was super easy, no forcing anything. Installing this.... well, wow.... I gave up, and I never ever do that. Use the seatbelt through the steering wheel anytime you work with the linkage to prevent it from turning and later damaging your clock spring. So the splines on the inside (under dash) union was horrible. I could not for the life of me get it to spline on easily, or properly. I tried to open the fitting however that did nothing. After a good 30-45 mins of trying to get it on, I gave up. See the picture. I can't tell if the splines are the wrong size or what, but I then decided to try force that it on... but I couldn't get it to seat fully. Reinstalling the original took literally 1 min, it all went back on easily, as I hoped this new crown one would. Now I am stuck with this thing!!!! I'll research a better replacement when the time comes. I know you're thinking "this guy is a hack!". I've replaced nearly all the typical things on this 1999 TJ myself. Transfer case, CPS, its on its 3rd radiator, front metal fenders, seats, 4th soft top, countless u-joints. and the list goes on!! This is the only aftermarket part I've bought that didn't fit!
