Rear View Mirror
When out driving on the road, you need to keep your head pointed forward. Often, such as when turning or changing lanes (or when backing up), you need to confirm there is no one beside or behind you. A side view or rearview mirror allows you to make quick easy glances to confirm you are in the clear. Rear view mirrors are typically mounted at the top middle of the inside of the windshield, either with a windshield mount or from the headliner / overhead console. Sideview mirrors are either attached to the doors or on the fenders (typically on older vehicles). It is important that mirrors are adjusted properly from the driving position to avoid "blind spots" where other vehicles are not visible when checking your mirrors or using your peripheral vision.
When selecting a rear view mirror for your car or truck, if it is a factory replacement, confirm the year, make, and model of the vehicle as well as the trim level. This will ensure proper fitment. For custom mirror applications, take careful measurements to ensure the mounting points and the mirror will fit properly.
