Oil Cooler
In high performance and heavy-duty truck applications, where excessive heat can build up in the engine and cause the oil to lose viscosity and degrade, an oil cooler is a necessity. An engine oil cooler is typically mounted in front of the radiator and oil lines connect it (via threads or an oil cooler gasket) to the oil filter mount on the engine, requiring relocation of the filter elsewhere. The oil then travels from the engine to the oil filter, followed by the oil cooler, and back to the engine, effectively cooling and filtering it.
When selecting an oil cooler, it is important to confirm that the oil filter adapter and relocation mount has the correct thread size and filter mount diameter. The oil cooler also needs to meet the minimum application size requirement to properly lower fluid temperature.
JEGS offers a wide range of oil coolers to choose from provided by the best manufacturers in the industry. These include Earl's, Derale, Mishimoto, C&R Racing, Canton Racing Products, and others.
