This nickel plating provides excellent corrosion resistance, superior hardness, consistency and lubricity.The main benefit of the 26 series being nickel plated is the finish on the inside of the body. On a monotube shock, the piston rides along the inside wall of the shock body. If the finish of the inside wall is porous or rough in any way, the shock will be inconsistent.
