JEGS Heat Shield Mat reflects radiant heat away from body panels, hoods, floor pans, and firewalls in order to protect the paint from blistering. Withstands radiant heat to 1100-degrees F continuous and 450-degrees F direct contact. Reflects heat by placing mat's aluminized side toward the source, and attaches to a clean surface with its high-temperature adhesive backing (can also be secured with screws, rivets, or stainless wire ties for extra stability when exposed to dirt, oil, water, etc.). Mat cuts easily with scissors.
