Trail-Gear 305036-KIT Features:
Years after releasing our successful Rock Assault 9 Axle housing, we decided to add a Toyota 8” version to the Rock Assault lineup. This housing is built to the same specifications as our Rock Assault 9 axles, however, they are built to accept the popular Toyota 8” differential. These housings have been tested in W.E. Rock, CalRocs, and King of the Hammers, so we know it will stand up to the toughest terrain on earth.
We started with a 1/4" thick formed shell for the center section made out of A36 Steel. This is a high-strength, low alloy, structural steel plate with a minimum yield strength of 36,000 PSI! All of this is attached to an equally strong 1/2" thick faceplate for anchoring the DOM axle tubes. The axle tubes are secured by the industry's first 3-Point Attachment System, giving the tubes superior support and engagement into the center section. We also face the center section to ensure your differential mounts flush against the axle housing to prevent any leaks.
The Rock Assault Fabricated 8 Housings are offered with 3.5” OD axle tubes with your choice of 1/4” or 3/8” wall thickness.
The housing is shipped with no ends. Housing endsmust be sourced and installed to complete axle. Portal style ends are commonly used for this application.
We recommend the addition of our
- ¼” CNC formed center section
- ½” Formed faceplate
- DOM axle tube
- 3-Point attachment system
- Faceplate is machined after welding to ensure that the differential mounts flush
- Accepts Toyota 8” Differential (non-Elocker)
- Made in USA
- Includes 2 seal housing kits.
- Housing is shipped bare
