746-PCE546.1001
The Procomp Electronics compact and lightweight voltage booster to complement ignition systems takes an input of 10 - 15 volts and produces a steady output of 18 volts to coil positive. Therefore, the state of charge of the battery has no effect on ignition system performance. Maximum rated output current is 7.5 amps continuous or 10 amps for 30 seconds. The booster can still be used even if an alternator is fitted, to boost voltage from the alternator's 13.8 - 14.8 volts to 18 volts, however, it is not necessary to use an alternator if space and weight are an issue.
