Speedmaster PCE347.1006 - FAQs FAQ:
Can you use a 350 Chevy head gasket on a 305?
- No, it is not recommended. The Speedmaster PCE347.1006 SBC gasket kit is specifically designed for Chevy 350 engines with a 4" bore size. 305 engines have a 3.760 bore size. Using the correct gasket kit ensures proper sealing and compatibility.
What's the difference between a 305 and a 350 Chevy motor?
- Dimensionally they are the same and most parts will interchange. They use the same crankshaft, and connecting rods and have the same 3.480 stroke. The main difference lies in the bore size. A 305 has a smaller cubic inch (cu in) volume compared to a 350 with a bore size of 3.760 while the 350 has a bore size of 4". The Speedmaster PCE347.1006 Chevy gasket kit is tailored to the larger 350 engine for precise fit and seal.
