    PCE281.2031 is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Check everything before installing. Pretty cheap parts are used, bad install on the heli-coils, thin castings and the aluminum is soft. Probably best to buy them bare and do the rest yourself. The box they come in is pretty thin too so it would be better if Jegs would put them in a box too so they don’t get damaged in shipping and need surfacing like mine did.

I know Pro Comp initially used poor quality valves and springs in their pre-assembled heads. Has their quality improved? Would I be better off buying bare heads and building them from scratch? Engine is a 496 with a .575 lift flat tappet cam.

    Asked by: runningwithscissors
We have not had any issues with the quality of the heads - It looks like the lift you are using is a bit over the recommended maximum for the springs that come on this head.

CAN YOU GET THESE HEADS WITH A HIGHER LIFT SPRINGS AND CAN YOU USE THE STOCK PUSH RODS AND PUSH ROD GUIDES.

    Asked by: greenman
No, you would need to purchase the "bare" heads and add the components that you want for your application.

Does PROCOMP have BBC heads for roller cam? Can these heads be made to work with roller camshaft?

    Asked by: Lightftr
For these heads to work with roller cam you must change the valve springs.
