Sonnax 22173D-01 Features:
Delivering the ultimate protection against Chrysler 48RE and 47RE shaft failure, Sonnax extreme duty output shaft 22173D-01 features a unique combination of innovative engineering and quality manufacturing. It's ideal for use in 68RFE to 48RE conversions, where the transfer case input has 29 splines, or in older, 47RE applications when an appropriate 29-spline input gear is sourced separately.
Stronger materials typically used for improving weak parts can’t overcome a critical weak point on the OE output shaft: it's small, 23-spline cross section. To guard against breakage, the 1.480" dia. Sonnax shaft features a significantly larger, 29-spline configuration that is based on the OE manual transmission spline. The larger size combined with a superior, high-strength alloy shaft delivers 50% more strength than OE-size, aftermarket shafts.
