GM LS V8
JEGS 23520 GM LS Oil Pump Priming Socket will allow you to prime your newly assembled engine before start-up to prevent engine damage. This priming tool is used before the harmonic balancer and pump drive gear have been installed to pre-oil the internal components of your engine. It is easy to use and installs over the front of the crankshaft snout and into the oil pump gear. A 3/8 in. drive drill with a 3/8 socket driver is required to operate the priming tool. (Do Not Use and Impact Wrench. It will Damage the oil pump)
Note: Some aftermarket timing chains & gear sets have the oil pump drive gear as part of the lower sprocket and can not be removed. This LS Oil Priming Socket will only work on LS engines with a removable oil pump drive gear that slides off of the crankshaft snout.
Specifications:
Will this socket spin on an aftermarket keyed crank without removing the woodruff keys?
