12-212-2 - Comp Cams 'Magnum' Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BAD TO THE BONE CAM!!! I put this cam in a 327 in 1990!! Still running today!! YES--32 YEARS!!!! It's in a 1984 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Phase II Bowtie heads straight out of the box from GM, 1.6 ratio rockers--boosts valve lift to .512, Edelbrock performer that I ground out the plenum divider (I guess it's basically a Performer RPM now--they didn't make that intake in 1990)--a guy 20 years older than me told me to cut that out--got lots of good go-fast secrets from him back in the day (he's about 73 now--I need to ask him a bunch of questions and write them down before it's too late), 650 double pumper Holley, Msd 6AL, forged flat top pistons(.030 over), Hooker Super Comp headers, 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust with cross-over and Flowmaster 40's, 3500 stall converter in 350 turbo hydramatic(built with extra clutch disks and a nitrided intermediate roller clutch race), and a 9 inch Ford with 4:11s, 35 spline axles, and a posi-trac differential. Painted bright blue (from 1990 Corsica, Beretta, Astro van) sitting on Weld Drag Lites 15x8s in back, 15x7s in front. Front upper control arms--Hotchkiss Performance, B-body spindles and brakes, B-body master cylinder. Rear lower control arms boxed, rear upper arms adjustable. Still almost impossible to get off the line even with 9 inch slicks!! This cam is so wicked!! 327 making so much torque at 3500 it blows the tires off! It pulls hard all the way to 6500--never gets any valve float--I've turned it 7500++ several times just because it sounds awesome! She's always been blow-proof-- 32 years and nothing but a few oil changes!! Even with high pressure valve springs this cam never seems to want to wear out!! Great product!!
