- VHT Spray Primer
VHT Spray Primers provide an excellent foundation with strong adhesion to intermediate and top coats for any enamel, acrylic, or synthetic lacquer paint. They're formulated to fill scratches/pin holes caused by sanding or body fillers and to create a corrosion barrier on bare metal. VHT Spray Primer air dries quickly; it can be sanded for multi-layer build-ups, the method used most by professional builders and restorers to obtain optimum smoothness on flat or contoured surfaces. These multi-purpose primers can be used on metal, fiberglass, masonry, wood, and most plastic. They're ideal for automotive, marine, aviation, home, farm, and industrial applications.

How to Apply VHT Spray Primer
- Do not spray paint in windy or dusty conditions.
- Before starting, test primer with finish coat for compatibility. Do not use VHT Lacquers.
- Mask off all areas NOT to be painted (paper should extend at least 18" from area to be sprayed).
- For area to be painted, tape far enough away to allow room to feather the spray (placing masking tape too close will cause ridges).
- Spot prime exposed metal, scratches, and pin holes with 2-3 very light coats of primer. Primer will dry in 30-45 minutes for sanding.
- Gently sand with 400 to 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Make sure to feather all edges.
- Rinse thoroughly, and wipe with a tack cloth. If imperfections are still visible, repeat process.
- Spray primer in long, even strokes--lengthening each stroke to feather edges (thus minimizing the need for heavy sanding later).
- For best results, apply finish coat 1-2 hours after final sanding.
