Nitrous Express 16011 Maximizer 6 Progressive Nitrous Controller
The Maximizer 6 stands at the forefront of progressive nitrous controllers, offering a robust solution designed to elevate your vehicle's performance while safeguarding your engine. Capable of managing up to four separate stages of nitrous activation based on various parameters such as time, RPM, MPH, throttle percentage, or boost pressure, the Maximizer 6 caters to a wide array of engines, whether they are naturally aspirated, forced induction, gasoline, or diesel.
Safety Features: Central to its design, the Max 6 diligently monitors critical engine metrics, including throttle percentage, engine RPMs, nitrous PSI, and boost or pan vacuum, along with three additional sensors set by the user. This comprehensive oversight ensures proper nitrous introduction when the engine is in an optimal state to handle it. Should any parameter fall outside of predetermined safe ranges, the Max 6 proactively adjusts or ceases nitrous flow to prevent engine damage.
Display and Programming Options: While the Max 6 is primarily configured and fine-tuned through a user-friendly Windows-based laptop program, it also supports an optional 4-inch touch screen display 16011S (sold separately). This display facilitates common on-the-go tuning parameter adjustments, eliminating the necessity for a laptop in all scenarios.
Data Logging: With an integrated automatic data logging feature, the Max 6 meticulously records all input signals, including three user-defined ones. This capability allows for the retrospective analysis of critical data from numerous runs, with internal memory sufficient to store data from over 100 quarter-mile runs before necessitating a laptop transfer.
Hardware Features: The Max 6 is equipped with internal drivers for the first and second stages, each capable of handling 70 amps or a combined 140 amps in single-stage mode. The third and fourth stages require external drivers (purchased separately), ensuring complete versatility and performance across many applications.
Nitrous Express 16011 Maximizer 6 Progressive Controller Progression Options:
Time-Based Progression: Ideal for drag racing from a stationary start, this mode allows for a finely tuned increase in nitrous delivery as traction improves down the track, starting with a softer initial boost to prevent wheel spin and gradually ramping up to full power.
RPM-Based Progression: Suited for vehicles that can handle full nitrous power by the end of first gear, this mode facilitates the addition of nitrous at lower RPMs, gradually increasing to full delivery as RPMs rise; this is particularly effective for vehicles with tight torque converters, enhancing the pull out of the starting line without overwhelming the traction.
MPH (Miles Per Hour) Progression: Versatile for dead stop and rolling start scenarios, MPH progression adjusts nitrous delivery based on speed, providing less boost at lower speeds to maintain traction and more boost at higher speeds where traction is better. This mode benefits bracket racers seeking consistent ETs with a MPH-based nitrous cutoff.
Throttle Percentage Progression: This dynamic option allows for real-time adjustment of nitrous flow based on throttle input, ideal for managing wheel spin and useful in road racing and drifting. It simulates the performance of a significantly larger engine by smoothly increasing nitrous delivery as the throttle is depressed further.
Boost Based Progression: Designed for turbocharged vehicles, this mode introduces nitrous to counteract turbo lag, then smoothly decreases nitrous delivery as turbo performance takes over, ensuring powerful acceleration without lag. It's particularly adept for diesel engines, preventing nitrous delivery until achieving adequate boost.
Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) Progression: incorporates AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) compensation and protection, adjusting fuel and nitrous solenoid outputs based on real-time AFR monitoring (via an aftermarket wideband O2 module) to maintain a desired AFR. This feature also adjusts for dropping bottle pressure, ensuring consistent performance, and includes customizable safety cutoffs to shut off nitrous flow if the AFR strays beyond set limits.
