Window Regulator
On a hot day, at the drive-thru, or when needing to talk to others on the outside while in your vehicle, your door windows need to be able to open and close. In order to allow this to happen, a window regulator is required. Window regulators allow either a hand crank or electric motor to change vertical window position, using driver or passenger input from a switch or manual handle. The regulator, depending on the design, will provide a controlled movement of the window to move up or down within the door. Over time, use and corrosion will cause the regulator to fail, requiring window regulator replacement.
When selecting a window regulator, first confirm the year, make, and model of your vehicle. Next, choose the correct side as many are specific to the driver or passenger door. Keep in mind that if your vehicle is offered in two or four door options, the regulator can be different (front or rear regulator in addition to driver or passenger side).
