550-858K - Holley Sniper EFI BBD Self-Tuning Kits is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Replacement for a Terrible Carburetor I purchased a 1984 AMC Eagle Wagon this summer. The already-sketchy emissions system was incomplete, which caused the computer-controlled Carter BBD to run terrible, and proved impossible to tune reliably. Installing the Sniper EFI kit wasn't difficult, but be prepared for "baby-steps" spiraling out of control. I replaced the intake/exhaust gaskets, the fuel tank, exhaust, and disassembled the dash to install the Sniper EFI. Every step of the way found a new issue with my 35-year old AMC (big surprise? not really). Off-idle response and driveability are night-and-day from the carburetor. I can't speak to fuel efficiency, and the carburetor consistently achieved 20mpg+ (running ridiculously lean at times), but it seems to be on-par. For the Eagle Wagon, the MASTER KIT came up short on fuel line. I would imagine a shorter CJ5 or maybe even an Eagle SX/4 would be OK, but I was about 5-feet short. I also ended up with a different in-tank fuel pump - a Hyperfuel 40019 - but only decided on the Hyperfuel pump after deciding to replace the fuel tank. Overall, I could've saved a few dollars if I had spent more up-front and ordered the basic kit instead of the master kit, but that is all on me, and I am very happy with the end results.

What is the smallest displacement you could use this on? Could it be used on a 4cyl car like an MGB?

    Asked by: Jordan K
Yes. Supports up to 350 HP. You will need to adapt to your intake manifold to fit.
